I am the preschool director of our church. I started a Mission Friends class on Wednesday night. I didn't get to start at the beginning of June but I'm really excited! However, I've never started a new class. I have all of the curriculum. Any ideas, suggestions, comments is greatly appreciated. Do you have any pros or cons to the curriculum? Is there anything that you've found extremely helpful or unhelpful? The only thing that was discouraging for my first class is that the only child I had was my daughter. Hopefully, more children will come to MF!!
Thanks!!!

Great that you started Mission Friends! I will pray for you and your church. I want to encourage you to keep having Mission Friends especially since your own daughter will gain the benefits. I know that soon you will have more preschoolers!
I find that I can't do everything listed in the curriculum, so we choose the activities - mostly based on the supplies at hand.
I would also like to hear what others say!

My 3.5 y/o daughter has been going to MF for a year now, but this year (this month) I am to begin teaching.  New to us all.  I have noticed this forum isn't particularly "busy" but hope to get some insights and ideas for leading this age group.

I am new also to MF and my 3.5 yr dd is probably going to be my only regular.  But I pray that will change!

Well, I've been teaching for two months. Most nights it's just me and my daughter. I enjoy the quality time we get to spend talking about God and Missions. She seems to enjoy it as well.
I'm not sure if you have a clue what you are doing, because I did not. I found out that I needed  more resources as time went by. It is very helpful to have the resource kit items, pictures, any books that are referenced and First Steps in Missions. I figured this out the hard way. I also am going to purchase How to Involve Preschoolers in Missions. I'm getting there. I truly love teaching the class. I hope this helps. Good luck!
