Our Children In Action group from St. Johns Baptist Church in Palatka, did yard work at an elderly couples house. We had 9 children, 4 adults and 2 youth staff participate in this event. This is the first time we have taken part in the Children's Day Ministry and plan to continue in years to come. From this expeience we are going to another elderly woman's house next month and do some yard work for her. We are presenting our recognition service Sunday morning as a finale with presentations of the "HOMETEAM" badge and certificate. The theme for our recognition service is HOMETEAM and we are using an acrostic of HOMETEAM [He Opens My Eyes To Every Available Moment...] to emphasize to those attending that we must use every available moment to present the gospel of Jesus Christ. For decorations we are using different ministries our church is presently doing and focusing on ones planned for the future. |

The GA's of Sand Hills Baptist church in Chipley, FL went on a "Food Pantry" scavenger hunt. We had 7 GA's, 1 Mission Friend, and 7 adults participate. Our church is establishing an ongoing Benevolence center so our group, with permission, raided the pantries of friends, family and church members. We divided up into groups, giving each group a list of needs and homes to visit, then met back at the church at a designated time. It was great fun, and allowed our church family to participate in our project. The bounty of food we collected will help feed many families in our community. We'll post pictures later.

We had 4 children and 8 adults from Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol, FL, participate in this year's Children's Ministry Day. Our young adult Sunday School class partnered with the children. We went to 3 different church members' homes and picked up pine cones and raked pine straw and leaves. It is amazing how quickly you can clean up a yard when you have a great group of people working together!

Our Pioneer Baptist Children In Action group in Clewiston, FL helped clean up yards, wash vehicles and groom dogs for our church members. We had five great girls work together to achieve a great day of ministering and helping others. God bless the beautiful youth in our community. |

The CiA group of Palm Springs Baptist gathered 22 new pillows and pillow cases for a local homeless shelter, The Lord's Place. They decorated and put Bible verses on the pillowcases, and had a great time getting them ready to go to the shelter. The completed projects were taken to the shelter, where we were given a tour of the facility. While they were not allowed to volunteer at the facility, they were encouraged to talk about the work there and gather clothing and food items to donate. The Lord's Place also operates Cafe Joshua, a "soup" kitchen that prepares and serves 100-150 meals two times per day. They have housing for both homeless men and families (two separate locations), and provide classes for resume writing, job searches, and much more. It was a very informative visit for our kids.

Our group of children decided to make gift bags for the widows in our church as well as for a few widows in the local nursing home. We also took one to a woman in our church that had suffered from cancer recently. The children gave them gift bags filled with goodies and sang a few songs to them. We also sang to some of the residents at the nursing home. This was our first time participating, as this the is first Children in Action group we've had. We were all blessed by what happened during our visits. The people we ministered to really appreciated the thoughtfulness of the kids and the kids loved being with the elderly women, as well. We are already looking forward to next year!!!

Our lone little GA who showed up made 10 dozen peanut butter cookies. The cookies were baked for the Central Florida Fair workers. GOBA has a welcome station for the workers which has a dental clinic for simple work, also, they receive a bag pf toiltetries and a good witnessing. This is all run by volunteers from Campers on Mission. This was a good experience for the one girl to learn some cooking skills (even though I try to things like this with her since she is my granddaughter). She also received a lot of attention from the other 3 teachers. We even got to enjoy the broken cookies. Thanks for encouraging this type of activity.

We had a wonderful work day and blessed one of our shut-ins who was 91 years old and needed her yard raked.
We had 6 girls and 4 leaders who worked and worked to clean up the front yard, we raked, swept, and bagged leaves and put them at the road side curb for pick up.
The girls worked tirelessly and didn't even want to stop for lunch and they really showed the Lord's love and serving by this Children's Ministry Day project.
