I am the director of the CIA group at Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford GA and we had a wonderfuly Children's Ministry Day. We have a small group but some big hearts for the Lord.  We painted clay pots and then planted flowers in them and delivered them to a local assisted living home. We were able to go door to door at the facility and the children passed out pots and our women's ministry team made cookies for us to pass out also.  The children had a great time and we think the love of Jesus blossomed through them on Saturday.

I am the GA Director at Flat Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville, GA. On CMD, we had a group of 17 children and 8 adults who gathered to help a local family in need. We traveled less than 1 mile from our church to do yard work and light house work for a family who has a handicapped child living at home. The children raked leaves, picked up fallen tree branches, swept, planted flowers, and even washed their car. The GAs and RAs also had a contest to see who could collect the most canned foods, which we donated to the family. In less than 2 weeks, they collected over 150 cans! Everyone who participated that day was ministered to. The kids couldn't believe that someone that close to our church needed our help. Several of our kids actually went to school with one of the siblings and have made a friendship through CMD. We are already looking forward to planning next year's event!

On Feb. 20, 2010, Girls in Action from First Baptist Church, Rincon, Georgia participated in Children’s Ministry Day (The Home Team) by serving at the Salvation Army in Savannah, Georgia.  Eleven GAs served along with thirteen adults, leaders & parentsJ   We took blankets & disposable diapers and money for CAT passes.   Stuffed animals & valentines were given to the children living at the Salvation Army.  What a great day it was to see the smiles on those faces!  The GAs carried food trays & served the staff, women & children and finally the public.  GAs emptied the trays and washed dishes.  Some GAs organized their food pantry.  Our girls learned how the homeless depend upon the Salvation Army for their meals. Those coming for food were very humble and gracious to us.  We loved working with Ms. Lochi in the kitchen.  Thanks to Lynette for giving us the opportunity to share the love of Jesus and to see how smoothly things run.

We have a church member who is on bedrest for a few months until the birth of her baby.  We collected food and baby items and made a large gift basket for her and her husband.  We also made a card with each child writing a personal message.  On Children's Ministry Day we delivered the basket and visited with her for about 45 minutes.  We had prayer with her before we left.

The GA's from Adairsville Baptist Church in Adairsville, Georgia took the theme a little different than most. We had several children from our area that had spent time last year in the local Children's Hospital and we wanted to give something back to them for the care they had provided. We said that if a child is at the hospital a day, a week or months it becomes their home so Scottish Rite Hospital became the home team we wanted to help. The 2 months leading up to Children's Ministry Day we collected books, cds, dvds and books on cd for the library at the hospital. We wanted to help the kids at the hospital to have more ways to help fill their time while at the hospital. We forget that some kids can not see or watch tv so they need something else to do while being treated. We collected over 400 items for the library. The girls sorted the books by age group and made get well cards to send with them to the hospital. The books were delivered a couple of weeks later to a most appreciative library staff.

Our G.A.'s & R.A.'s used a friendly competition to see who could raise the most money for our new church mission trailer. The trailer is being stocked with supplies needed for missions work.  We raised over $92.00!
