We are from Antioch Baptist Church in Bolivia, Our GA's collected socks, decorated crosses and we took them to a local nursing home. The girls sang 1 song and took turns reading a bible story "HEAVEN, GOD'S BEAUTIFUL HOME". Then they passed out bags each one having 1 pair of socks & 1 decorated cross. All 80 residents at the nursing home received one. The look on their faces was amazing, they were so thankful for what we gave them. Our girls really enjoyed it, before we got out of the parking lot they wanted to know when could we come back and what could we do for them next time. Its great to see kids doing God's work. Thank you for letting us share our Children's Ministry Day 2010 with you. |

We are from Calvary Baptist Church in Hamlet N.C. and we gathered at the Church and divided up into 5 teams. From there we went out and visited several shut in's in our area.
Most were from our church but some were just new to the area. The kids sang songs for them and we made cookies to give them and of course we prayed with each one. Everyone was very receptive and all the kids had slot of fun!!

We are from Creekside Community Church,Bessemer City,N.C. We are going to clean up our church van and do some more cleaning around our church. We thought this would be great for our church since we are very small and we don't have anyone to do these things.

GAs from Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Airy, NC visited the Baptist Children's Home in Thomasville, NC. Sixteen girls with 3 leaders and 5 ladies from the BYW shared in a Valentine's Party with one of the girl's cottages. The group also put together a big box of gifts including movies, popcorn, stuffed animals, kitchen items, school supplies and snacks. Since the NC Children's Home is celebrating 125 years of ministry, the GAs decorated quilt squares that will be used to make a tapestry. With the help of a Karaoke Machine the GAs entertained the girls with singing, creative movement and singing hands performances. The afternoon ended with the girls from the home singing along with us. We became one happy family.

Our group began collecting care package items at the beginning of February. On February 17, our GA group met at the church. We put together 18 care packages and wrote bible verses to attach to them. The girls also painted sun catchers to put in each bag. On Saturday February 20 we met at the church at 9:30am. We had devotion and prayer time and then we left and went to a local nursing home for the elderly. Our girls set up in the library of the nursing facility and sang songs to about 20 residents, handed out care packages to each one and took time to visit and talk with them. They were more of a blessing to us than we were to them! We had a great time and it was so touching to see them smile, clap and sing along with us. We will hold a memory of this in our hearts always! We arrived back at the church at approx. noon and our sweet WMU ladies had us a delicious hot dog lunch! It was a great day and such a blessing! |

The GAs at First Baptist Church in Granite Falls, NC did yard work for one of our elderly church members who was a former GA Leader herself. We had four girls and two adults who participated. The girls picked up sticks, raked leaves, pulled up dead flowers, and swept porches and walkways. The girls also gave our elderly church member a flower and sang her the current GA song.

College Park Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC had 12 Girls In Action and 4 leaders participating in Children’s Ministry Day this year. In support of the Home Team theme, we prepared twelve gift baskets filled with cleaning supplies. These gift baskets were donated to the Forsyth County Habitat for Humanity. Habitat will give one basket to each of their new home owners all throughout the 2010 building season. A Welcome Home card was attached to each gift basket with House Rules printed on the interior of the card. The "rules" are as follows: Home Rules Always be honest (Proverbs 12:22)Count your blessings (Psalms 34:1-3)Bear each other's burdens (Galatians 6:2)Forgive and forget (Micah 7:18)Be kind and tender hearted (Ephesians 4:32)Comfort one another (1 Thessalonians 4:18)Keep your promises (Romans 4:21)Be supportive of one another (Acts 20:35)Be true to each other (Revelations 15:3)Look after each other (Deuteronomy 15:11)Treat each other like you treat your friends (Matthew 7:12)but most importantLove One Another deeply from the heart (1 Peter 1:22) |

We made 103 bags filled with small toys, verse stickers, homemade cards, decorated the bags, snacks, etc. We delivered some to the children in the women's and children's home in Asheville and the rest will go to children waiting for the medical/dentist bus.
