I would greatly love to have a copy of your GA handbook. As a new leader starting out this year I think any ideas would be great. Thank you so much for doing this for GA leaders and of course the girls. We need to do all we can to spread the message and get the younger generation involved.
My email address is oakhillsga-acteens@hotmail.com
my mail goes to
Brandy Taylor
PO box 162
Kempner Tx, 76539

Thank you again and God Bless.

I would also like to get your GA Handbook. We have a new leader at our church and she could really use some assistance/instructions etc. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks a bunch!

I see that a lot of people are still asking for the GA Handbook I created last year. If you go to page 8 of this post you will see where I posted the pages to my book. Of course my pages have changed since then because of the new theme and I'll try to post some of the new ones again if you would like.

Also, if you see some of my post since then you will see that there were way more people asking for a copy then I have every imaged which meant that the cost was too much for me to print and mail them.

It's also hard for me to send the entire book by e-mail because of the size. When I did this originally I had to save each page to it's on file just to load them on here.

Please take a look at page 8 of this post to find the GA Handbook I created. Thanks for all your support and interest. I'll try to post my new book for the 2010 and 2011 year soon if anyone is interested.

Also I hope Mitzi does not mind me reposting this but these are great things too for new leaders. My GA Handbook was created from these starting points. The GA Staff do a great job providing resources to GA Leaders and I know they look forward to hearing your feedback.

This GA forum is great! Many of you are new to GA and have lots of questions. This is a great environment to get the support and ideas from other GA leaders to help you.

Starting GA
The first place to start if you are new is at www.wmu.com/getstarted. Here you can download basic information to help you get started. Also, included is a sample unit and promotional resources.

Next, the guide for starting a GA organization is How to Involve Children in Missions. This has everything you need to organize GA from how to recruit leaders to leading a child to Christ. This is a must have resource for all GA leaders. http://www.wmustore.com/product.asp?sku=W077113

Strengthening GA
Each of you have a consultant in your state that can help you with questions and tell you about special GA events in your state. Go to http://www.gapassport.com/index.asp?ContentID=1220 to get the contact information for your consultant.

There are a few online training options. There is a general GA PowerPoint Presentation. And there is a "Fit 4 God's Missions" conference outline for you to download and lead at your church- http://www.gapassport.com/index.asp?ContentID=183

Also, on the GA website is a Frequently Asked Question area- http://www.gapassport.com/index.asp?ContentID=170

This fall we will expand our online training with a video training and some podcast.

Please, pray for me. I will be recording a 30-minute video training next month. Pray that I will cover what you all need to start and strenghten GA. I would love for you all to tell me what information would help you the most, so I can incooporate that into the training.

We are always open to feedback on how national WMU can assist you with your GA needs. You can always email me meaker@wmu.org or call me 205-991-4052 if you have questions. Both Melody, GA Editor, and I are here to help you.

Keep sharing and supporting one another!

Thanks for ministering to girls through missions education,
Mitzi Eaker, WMU GA Consultant

Thanks Allison. I'll go back to page 8 and see whats there. Do you know if there is a Curriculum that can be downloaded for free for the GA for the upcoming year? The RA's have a free download for 2010-2011 that includes plans, bible verses and a planning calendar. This would be so helpful for the GA's also if it were available.

Also, we have a new GA consultant, Suzanne. You can reach her at sreece [at] wmu.org or 205-991-8100. She would love to talk with you about next year in GA.

I hope this helps you!
