Looks like all of you had a great time serving the Lord and others on Children's Ministry Day. I hope our kids can participate in the next one. We have several things we want to do, just got to see which one works out for our kids.

Children and preschoolers at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Hueytown, Alabama, decorated pillowcases for a center for women dealing with a variety of problems. One boy did not want to participate, but Nancy Glover, the children's director, encouraged him, "God is going to use you today! I bought western stencils for you to use." 

He meticulously drew a western scene on a pillowcase, including a single star. When the children arrived at the center, they were allowed to personally distribute the pillowcases to the women. All of the women were pleased to receive the cases.

One woman became very excited when she received the case decorated by the boy. "I'm from Texas and this is a Texas pillowcase! How wonderful!" she exclaimed. She hugged the boy and told him about her children she had to leave behind in Texas. As the children left, the woman told the boy, "God used you today to bless me!"

The boy and all the other children were glad they could help the women. This was the third year they have participated in Children's Ministry Day.

Our group at Second Baptist Church, Russellville, KY registered our event, and what we did is posted on the forum. However, we did not receive the confirmation needed to download the CMD Certificate. Would it still be possible to receive that? Thanks again for CMD.

Our Our church, Del Cerro Baptist of La Mesa, California, decided to partner with our Youth Minister's ministry to San Diego State University, which is just a couple of miles away from us.  Children of all ages from one year on up all helped make gift bags for the college students.  Each gift bag had four snacks, one school supply item, one toiletry item, one beverage packet, and one candy item. We used donations from the congregation to fill the bags, so we involved the entire church.  We ended up with 100 bags. 

The campus ministry, which is called "Challenge at SDSU", used the bags at an information booth they set up on campus to attract students to their Bible study group and to promote a couple of his outreach events called, "Questions for God" and "What is Love?"  They generated extra interest to their booth by setting up a wheel which students could spin for a chance to win one of the gift bags.  I am attaching a picture of one of our Sunday school classes holding up their  Children's Ministry Day certificates, as well as pictures of the booth at SDSU and flyers for the two outreach events that were promoted using the gift bags. 
 
Our Youth Minister sent me the following highlights about Challenge at SDSU:
  • At some outreach events, they had 30-40 come and hear the gospel presented.
  • Since they began last Fall, they have seen three people baptized.
  • Their staff has spent time personally discipling about 10 people.
  • They have developed a core team of about 10-15 individuals to reach SDSU's campus
 
We are truly proud to be a part of this ministry to increase God's Kingdom.

It's exciting to be a part of something so much bigger than just myself or my church. Thank you so much for helping make a difference for Christ in thousands of lives on this day!
