Hello to all who might read this thread!  I'm in the middle of teaching the unit on the Refugee Sewing Society.  I'm wondering how other leaders are teaching this unit.  What activities are you doing w/your kiddos?  I showed a You Tube video about the RSS (2 minutes and a few seconds) last night.  Cathy Palmer narrated the video.  I felt like my Mission Friends enjoy it.  I also talked about one of the pictures that was included in the Mission Friends kit - the woman from Somalia.  Mission Friends then used beads to make their own bracelets.  I'm interested to hear what other leaders are doing!

Hello.
There is not a church nearby that offers Mission Friends, and our church home does not want to start this ministry because they do Awana. However, my husband and I are interested in bringing the Mission Friends curriculum into the home. That being said, we used to teach the 4-5 year olds - I don't know where to begin to adjust the curriculum to fit a baby-age learning environment. If anyone has any suggestions that would be awesome! Thank you!

I must admit that I am glad to see we are not the only ones having difficulty coming up with an idea this year. I was having difficulty coming up with project ideas that was hands on and did not involve just collecting and distrubuting items.  I may combine the idea and let each child invite one teacher from school to a appreciation tea party at our church.  Some ideas we discussed that may help someone else are doing anti-flu packets for each class (containing lysol, clorox wipes, hand sanitizers) or preparing first aid kits for each class and letting the kids decorate and pack the containers.  One year we did goodie bags for school bus drivers full of candy and attached a really cute poem telling them thank you for their service.  Will keep you all in my prayers and would love to hear more ideas and suggestions out there.]]> Sun, 15 Jan 2012 22:51:09 +0000 http://www.wmuforums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=871&PID=3744#3744 Children’s Ministry Day : CMD 2012 HELP! http://www.wmuforums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=871&PID=3743#3743 Author: Margaret
